Temple Sinai’s sisterhood organization, called Sisters Ami, is a multi-generational group of women dedicated to family, synagogue and community. Members participate in a mix of religious, educational and social endeavors throughout the year, including an annual Progressive Dinner, book club discussions, games and much more.
Temple Sinai’s brotherhood group has recently been established with a mission to serve our congregation and community. The group’s activities have includes a men’s seder and serving the oneg for our High Holiday services.
The mission of Havurah Vatik is to provide Jewish seniors, ages 55 and older, opportunities for socialization, intellectual stimulation, and entertainment in warm and caring settings that celebrate Jewish life. The program, which is sponsored by Temple Sinai and meets at Congregation Shaara Tfille, is open to all Saratoga area Jewish seniors. It is primarily funded by a grant from United Jewish Federation and First Niagara Bank.
Havurah Vatik events are held on the third Tuesday of the month from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, with an interesting speaker or entertainer, followed by a delicious catered lunch, and an opportunity to socialize. There is no charge for attendance, but a voluntary donation is requested. Call the Temple at (518) 584- 8730 to learn more.
Monthly Soup Kitchen
Temple Sinai provides a lasagna dinner on the fourth Sunday of each month at the EOC Soup Kitchen, housed in the New England Presbyterian Church. Volunteers from the Temple Sinai community donate lasagnas and participate in setting up the meal, serving and cleanup. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the office at 584-8730.
