Based on Samuel Kassow’s book about historian Emanuel Ringelblum, this movie recounts a bold story of Nazi Resistance. After German forces imprisoned hundreds of thousands of Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto, a band of writers, scholars, and artists code– named Oyneg Shabes (The Joys of Shabbat) began a mission to collect and document the story of the war from the Jewish point of view. Their goal was to defy their enemy with the ultimate weapon—the truth. They risked everything so that these archives would survive even if they did not.
